Leadership
The people behind the network
ANOHC is led by a dedicated staff team and governed by a board of directors drawn from member coalitions across the country. They’re not just leading the network. They’re living it.
Board of Directors
Elected by our member coalitions
Board Structure
How ANOHC is governed
Board Composition
- Eight to twelve members elected by the full ANOHC membership
- Each member coalition has one equal vote in elections
- Officers include chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary, and past chair
Board Responsibilities
- ANOHC governance, including bylaws and organizational policy
- Budget management and financial oversight
- Listserv and member communications
- Adopting policy priorities for the network
Voting Structure
- Annual business meeting for all members. Each April ANOHC convenes an annual business meeting to review progress and present new board members and other issues for member votes.
- Every member has an equal voice. Primary, Affiliate, and Emerging coalition members each have one vote on membership matters.
- Other organizational business is managed by the Board. At least 51% of the Board of Directors must be present (in person or virtually) to conduct business or pass a motion.
Non-Board Committee Participation
- ANOHC members who are not on the board of directors are welcome to serve on committees
- Each committee elects its own chair
- Committee recommendations are approved by majority vote of those present
Committees
Committees guide ANOHC's work
Governance Committee
- Identify and recommend people to serve on the Board and Executive Committee
- Develop and maintain ANOHC bylaws
- Create and update organizational policies and procedures
Policy Committee
- Recommend policy positions for the network
- Monitor federal and state oral health policy developments
- Craft and submit policy comments and testimony to federal officials
Finance Committtee
- Budget management and financial planning
- Assure financial policies are followed and serve as audit committee
- Recommend and pursue appropriate revenue streams
Beyond these three standing committees, ANOHC convenes additional committees as needed, such as a Member Meeting Planning Committee and a Website Development Committee.
