Position Details

Type: Staff, salaried, exempt

Location: Fully remote; open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.

Time Commitment: Full-time

Compensation: $80,000-$117,000 Commensurate with experience and scope of work

Travel: Occasional national travel required (e.g., conferences, meetings)

Reports to: ANOHC Board of Directors

Position Overview

ANOHC seeks a dynamic, experienced individual to serve as the inaugural Executive Director to lead the organization. This fully remote position will oversee and support the network’s strategic and operational efforts, focusing on strengthening member coalitions in areas such as organizational structure, strategic planning, data collection, communications, collaboration with a diversity of stakeholders, public policy development, advocacy and program implementation.

The Executive Director will also manage internal operations including meetings and programming, staff supervision, coordinate with consultants and partners, and serve as the primary point of contact for ANOHC members.

This position is ideal for a nonprofit professional with a background in oral health or dental public health who thrives in a collaborative, virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coalition Support & Capacity Building

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to state oral health coalitions
  • Facilitate peer learning and resource sharing across the network
  • Guide coalitions in areas such as governance, strategic planning, data use, and sustainability

Program & Operations Management

  • Plan and facilitate member meetings, webinars, and learning sessions, including the annual member meeting
  • Manage ongoing ANOHC programs and coordinate special initiatives
  • Track progress on work plans and ensure timely deliverables

Consultant & Partner Coordination

  • Oversee and support external consultants engaged with ANOHC projects
  • Serve as liaison between ANOHC members and national partners
  • Support collaborative initiatives and shared advocacy opportunities

Communications & Data

  • Support coalitions in effective messaging and communication strategies
  • Help members utilize data for planning, advocacy, and reporting
  • Manage ANOHC internal and external communications platforms
  • Serve as key spokesperson for ANOHC

Organizational Operations and Sustainability:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with funders and key stakeholders
  • Expand and diversify ANOHC revenue streams

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in nonprofit management, preferably in a leadership or executive role
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public health, public administration, business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of oral health and/or dental public health preferred
  • Experience working with coalitions, networks, or membership-based organizations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets in a remote work environment
  • Comfortable using online collaboration tools and platforms
  • Ability to travel occasionally for in-person meetings or events
